Motorsport
embodies the ideals of passion, determination and the pursuit of excellence
that have always been the founding values of the Ferrari brand. Since its
beginnings, motor racing has proved to be a formidable tool for building the
brand, making a major contribution to creating a legend unrivalled anywhere in
the world, while at the same time serving as a unique test bed for pushing back
the limits of new technical solutions that can then be used in the world of
production cars. There is no race or championship in which Ferrari has not left
an indelible mark. In Formula 1, the Prancing Horse has won more titles than
any other team and is the only one to have competed in every edition since the
championship began in 1950. In sports prototype racing, epic battles with the
giants of the motor industry and prestigious victories at the Mille Miglia and
the 24 Hours of Le Mans have also played a large part in building the Ferrari
legend.
In 2021,
Ferrari announced the launch of its development programme for a prototype in
the LMH category, the top class of endurance racing. Two years later, history
was made once again, with Ferrari winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the 499P
presented that same year.
To celebrate
this historic day, Ferrari set about developing one of the most exclusive cars
to date: the 499P Modificata. The concept is clear: it is based on the 499P but
with slight modifications designed to improve its handling and the driving
pleasure of the gentlemen drivers who will have the pleasure of driving it. The
499P MODIFICATA is derived directly from a racing car, not a road-going
supercar, so it is not in the same family as XX cars. It was therefore
necessary to create a new category in the Corse Clienti range: Sport Prototipi
Clienti.
