Launched in
April 2021, the Ferrari 812 Competizione and Competizione Aperta are the
special and limited versions of the Ferrari 812 Superfast and GTS. With a total
production of 1589 (999 Competizione and 499 Competizione Aperta), the model is
already extremely rare and exclusive. But a project led by Ferrari North
America will enhance that rarity, working in collaboration with Ferrari Tailor
Made. Ferrari Tailor Made is the brand's personalisation department, an
exclusive Maranello programme for customers who want to customise their car
'like a glove' to make it unique and incomparable. This programme continues a
tradition that began in the 1950s, when customers were given a free choice of
materials, leathers, woodwork, colours and finishes to make their cars
absolutely unique. With time, experience and evolution, the possibilities are
now unlimited.
On 17 October,
this unique project inspired by the 'blank sheet' concept will be auctioned for
charity at the Ferrari Gala in New York. The piece in question, an 812
Competizione Tailor Made, was presented at the last edition of Montery Car
Week, and the result is beyond our expectations. It's a unique car in terms of
design, a highly original concept that leaves no one indifferent. The yellow
'Giallo Tristrato Mat' is a reference to the drawing cards used by the
Maranello designers to sketch ideas and concepts. The black 'Nero DS Sketch' is
a reference to the original sketches by Flavio Manzoni, Ferrari's chief design
director, which were used in the design of the model.
When the door
opens, the theme continues in the interior. Leather has been replaced by
alcantara, 65% of which is made from recycled polyester. The seats feature the
same Flavio Manzoni sketches, highlighting the car's distinctive character.
