This weekend's
Italian Grand Prix at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza will see the Scuderia
Ferrari on track with a special and unique look. The drivers' suits, helmets
and cars will be decked out in touches of yellow, a reference to the city of
Modena to celebrate the brand's origins. From the very beginning of the
Scuderia in 1929, and again when the car company was founded 75 years ago
(1947), Enzo Ferrari chose yellow, the colour of Modena's emblem, to appear on
the company's coat of arms, along with the prancing horse and the tricolour
stripe at the top. This edition of the Grand Prix also celebrates the 100th
anniversary of the Monza circuit.
The F1-75's
livery will feature several yellow accents, with black inserts. This design
will be short-lived and will only last for one weekend. Giallo Modena', also
known as Modena Yellow, is an integral part of the Maranello brand's DNA. The
colour is often associated with Ferrari red, which appeared on Ferraris after
the colour was designated as the official colour of Italian racing cars.
