The 2024 GT
World Challenge Europe - Endurance Cup season officially kicked off on 6 and 7
April at the legendary Paul Ricard circuit in Le Castellet with a 3-hour race.
It was at this round that our 2 AF Corse Francorchamps Motors Ferrari 296 GT3s
took to the track for the first race of the year. At the wheel of the n°51 car
were Alessandro Pier Guidi - Davide Rigon - Alessio Rovera, who crossed the
chequered flag in ninth place. In the n°71, Thomas Neubauer - Vincent Abril -
David Vidales crossed the line in fifteenth place.
Over the 5.771
kilometres covered at the historic Le Castellet circuit, in the category
reserved for professional drivers, the N°51 Ferrari 296 GT3 left its mark on
the weekend's racing with top performances that augur well for the rest of the
championship. Alessio Rovera put in an exceptional stint and went from strength
to strength, gaining six places on the opening lap and securing a place in the
top five. Despite anticipating a difficult weekend from the outset, Davide
Rigon and Alessandro Pier Guidi showed unfailing commitment throughout the
race.
Meanwhile, the
N°71 Ferrari 296 GT3 started the season in fifteenth place, despite a good
second stint by Thomas Neubauer, who was making his debut as an official
Ferrari driver.
